Deering Estate Entrance Pavilion

“Architecture is a science arising out of many other sciences, adorned with much and varied learning; by the help of which a judgment is formed of those works which are the result of other arts”, Vitruvius.  The concept behind my design was the unity of: science, nature, and architecture.  The design is based on algorithms taken of Tequesta burial mounds, using materials like wood pallets which are biodegradable, or Austrian Spruce.  My inspiration came from the Termite Pavilion, by Softroom Architecture, and the Pallet Pavilion, by Matthias Loebermann, who borrowed some concepts from architect Alfred von Bachmayer. While this semester was certainly challenging, I am grateful given by Professor Culver, and appreciative for the guidance given by the AutoCAD Lab technician Aleksander A. Altman.
